January 12: Creative Discipline Our January meeting will be on the topic of creative discipline, featuring speaker Laura Olson, director of the Blossom Family Center and mother of four (ages 2-10), who is also a former Waldorf teacher for 8 years. Laura will talk about early childhood development, democratic parenting, and tools to help with discipline during early childhood.
February 09: Nighttime Parenting Open forum discussion of nighttime parenting issues including bedsharing, night waking and weaning, moving child to own bed, adding siblings to family bed, and more.
March 09: AP Beyond Baby w/ Bethany Prescott Once your baby isn't a baby, the task of deciphering needs and wants becomes more complicated and our responses require different tools. This workshop focuses on how to best transition your attachment parented baby into a lovingly and respectfully parented toddler and young child.
April 13: Language of Listening w/ Sandy Blackard A review of the Say What You See Model. You can read her booklet before the meetings at Language of Listening. SAY WHAT YOU SEE gives you simple ways to SAY calm upsets, create trust, build confidence, inspire self-control, and keep the world of possibility open for the children you know and love!
May 11: Mini Mama's Retreat w/Carrie Contey Just in time for Mother's Day, we'll discuss * What fills you up and filling your cup. * What pushes your buttons and what you can do about it. * How to stay present. * How to stay connected. * How and when and where and why and ways to slow down. * How to tune in and when to tune out. * How to have fun and how to relish your role with all its multi-faceted and many layers.
June 08: Group Discussion: Future of our chapter and affiliation with API API has made some changes to rules surrounding sling demonstrations and libraries. Leaders, other volunteers and members will be able discuss how these changes and other aspects of our affiliation with API affect our chapter. The chapter will also discuss current and future needs for leadership and volunteers.
July 13: Potluck Picnic at Little Stacy Park Join us for a Potluck Picnic at Little Stacy Park & Wading Pool. The pool opens at noon so we can play in the park, enjoy some food and then cool off in the pool.

September 14: Parenting your Child ages 1-5: Setting boundaries without shame, punishment or rewards w/ Carrie Contey Slow Family Living Are you committed to positive parenting but find yourself at a loss when times are tough between you and your child? This class which will give you a clear understanding of why young children behave as they do, why it pushes your buttons and how to offer support and guidance in ways that foster connection and long-term emotional well-being. October 12: Playful Parenting w/ Bethany Prescott Learning the language of play can give parents incredible opportunities to connect with the kids we love. As grown-ups our play muscles weaken as the "real world" takes over. This workshop is designed to offer parents new insight into what play really means for a child and how we can join them in their world. We'll talk about why "play" can feel so hard for us and how we can move past that resistance. We'll also discuss how to use playfuless as a strategy in our guidance and discipline in a way that can have amazing results.
November 09: Attachment Theory with Audry Steele Disscussion of Attachment Theory, including ways to provide a secure attachment for your child.
December 14: Open forum Discussion on handling criticism of AP, the holidays, and anything else people need in way of support.
